A restaurant that bans children?

There's a restaurant in Pennsylvania that now bans children under six at all times. You can read about it here. What do you think?

I think it is a FABULOUS idea! Contrary to popular belief, chldren are not entitled to be everywhere, especially when they cannot behave and refrain from disrupting others.

Yes, I have children and they were never allowed to raise nine levels of satan without consequences. I would be happy to see this policy enforced in other establishments.

I think its terrible. Are we going to start banning people with special needs from restaurants too because they might be distracting? What about people who's cell phones ring & they blab as loud as possible during my dinner? We might as well ban the elderly or people who have hearing difficulties since others will have to speak up to communicate with them.

I have children as well, not sure how I totally feel about the ban. I have however, wondered by restaurants don't have a family section. They use to have smoking sections. When I took my sons, I liked being near other families because they were not as disturbed as easily. Then, when my husband and I would go out date night, guess what, were seated next to a child. We would usually asked to be moved.Family sections would solve a lot of this.

I see nothing wrong with letting the restaurant ownership/management make this call on their PRIVATE property. Don't like it? Go somewhere else. Let the free market decide. Same thing with smoking.

A couple of weeks ago I was in another Pittsburgh restaurant and a family had noisy children with them. I had had a trying day and just wanted to have a cocktail and dinner with my friend and RELAX. After almost an hour of listening to the children squeal and pop balloons they had been given, I finally asked to be moved to another station. I agree. Put them all together on a children's floor. It's a restaurant. Not a daycare center.
